Filing Jointly

If you and your spouse are in agreement regarding the airport runway noise issue, you both may file one claim for a $90 fee. Filing jointly can be advantageous for couples who may have scheduling problems with appearing together in small claims court on assigned dates. Should one member not be able to attend, the other may represent the two of you.

If you ask for $10,000 in your claim, and one member appears, you will jointly be awarded what the judge decides as community property. Should you both appear, you'd be awarded the same amount.

If you will be filing jointly, ensure that both names and signatures are on the two Administrative Claim forms mailed to San Francisco (the first set of paperwork).

If only one of you will be appearing, please complete and present

the PDF form here to the judge (via the bailiff)

at the time of your appearance.
