January 24, 2020 Current Status
The last two testimonies for Round Two occurred on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, in Judge Mazzei's court, followed by the defense's witnesses. One witness talked about the airport's finances, mentioning that the airport doesn't make a profit; another talked about how any runway work could not have affected the back blast noise even though some fences and barriers near Bayshore Freeway had been moved; a 3rd discussed how the airport monitors noise; a 4th paid consultant denied the proof that the "must have bought your home before 1980" was only applicable to federal court claims.
Ending up the day, the defense again used that "1980" argument; plaintiffs wrote a letter to the courts with evidence that it's a federal statute that's only to be used in federal courts. Awaiting verdict.
