Postponing Your Appearance
Please be aware that being a no-show at a scheduled appearance without notifying the court in writing or in person has serious consequences. It's possible the judge may rule for the defense in your case; it's possible the judge will not permit you to file a claim again. Please avoid it.
You do not have to stay all day in court on the date you were assigned. You could ask the judge (via a short note to the bailiff) to be among the first to speak in the morning before leaving.
If you cannot appear on the date and time that Small Claims
allotted you, please complete these forms at your earliest convenience. The required documents are obsolete, but small claims
insists on them.
